An IP address (Internet Protocol address) is a unique number, similar in concept to a telephone number, used by computers when sending and receiving information through the Internet.
An example IP address is 216.183.177.151
A static IP address is an IP address configured on a computer or a server to be used every time it is online. If your organisation uses static IP addresses, you can log into Irish Books in Print without a username and password. Your IT support department should be able to tell you whether your organisation uses static IP addresses on the internet.
All you need to do is provide us with a list or range of static IP addresses you want to be able to access to Irish Books in Print.
You can, of course, combine IP authentication and user logins if you wish.
